I am new here I hope I am forgiven for intruding in your discussion.
I am very pleased to come across such well thought site of great potential and contribution as we do need something like this. For me personally it felt like a breath of fresh air to find something like this out of the jungle.
I am particularly interested in this topic as I used to teach basic computer to multilingual class with some Tigrinya speaker and I used to find it hard to explain to them in our mother tongue.
However, thinking back now I don't see that translating the IT technical terms in Tigrinya would have been helpful to them as the student live in English speaking country and they eventually hope to apply their skills in getting a job. Saying that, it might help when trying to teach or explain to illiterate students with the only language they understand.
The dilemma about translating IT technical terms is a bit like trying to translate medical terms and even if one succeeds in doing that it would be no use unless we learn it in its original term as well.
Well this opinion comes from both my IT and translator background but I could be totally wrong.
I am just glad to share it with you.
